Aishwarya (Ash) Koujalgi

Movement is my passion, and I try to pass that passion on to my patients every day. I’ve worked as a physiotherapist since 2019, helping people with all kinds of joint problems regain confidence and control over their body and daily life. My work includes active rehabilitation, mobilisations, hands-on techniques, taping and exercise therapy. I also have a special interest in chronic neurological rehabilitation, where patience, precision and a personal approach play a big part.
I’m from India, where I worked as a physiotherapist for 2.5 years. Then I moved to Groningen to do my Research Master in Human Movement Sciences at the University of Groningen. Because I combine clinical experience with scientific knowledge, I can turn new insights into an approach that is practical, clear and personal. Exactly what suits you.
Outside the practice you’ll often find me on the yoga mat, sometimes twisted into the most impossible shapes, looking for that last bit of zen. I’m a certified yoga teacher specialising in prenatal yoga, I love sport and I go running regularly. When I’m not moving, I’m probably cooking or sketching.
I speak fluent English, Dutch, Hindi and Kannada and feel at home talking with people from all kinds of backgrounds.
The complex puzzle of the human body

The complex puzzle of the human body simply takes some time to solve. A physiotherapy session normally lasts 25 minutes. In our view, it’s not enough to only treat the limited movement and/or the pain. For a lasting result, we also need to map out lifestyle patterns or properly analyse your sports load. And there has to be room for that during the session!
At FysioGrow in Rijswijk, there is that room. Because we take 50 minutes for you, we can get more done in each session. That keeps the total number of sessions down. After 5 sessions we always take stock. But if you’re done sooner, we stop before then, of course!

I’m really happy with the treatment of my back, neck and shoulder problems. Everything was explained clearly, from what the problem was to what I could do myself in terms of exercises and what effect each exercise would have on my back and shoulders. Everything was done in a very professional and friendly way.
